A TRADITIONAL COUNTRY KITCHEN FOR A WENTWORTH FALLS WEATHERBOARD.

Stepping into this early 1900 weatherboard in Wentworth Falls you are immediately met with a warmth and charm that only older homes can evoke. When Director of Design and Decoration, Anne Hogarth was invited to renovate the kitchen, it was important to the client that the kitchen design was warm, interesting and sympathetic to the period of the home.

During the briefing our client had some very clear ideas already in mind including the Aga stove and Qasair rangehood. Anne was only too happy to create a design which would work with the client’s unique vision and brief.

Anne began with the cabinetry, using a traditional shaker profile reflective of the traditional style of kitchen. With no detail left unturned, the overhead cupboards were dressed in an ornate cabinetry capping to compliment the detailing of the ceiling cornice. The cabinetry has been finished in Dulux White Swan polyurethane and finished with ornate brass handles selected by the client completing the look.

The British Racing Green Aga Stove is the feature piece of the kitchen, sharing its warmth during winter and cold Mountain mornings.

A farmhouse sink from Turner Hastings paired with the Astra Walker Olde English kitchen set with Stanmore spout was the perfect choice for this character filled traditional style kitchen.

The Gatsby green, white and copper embossed ceramic tiles offer an eclectic, pressed tin look, further enhancing the timeless style of this kitchen. Our client enjoyed creating the informal layout of colours alongside T&B’s tiler, confirming that our contractors and designers are only too happy to work collaboratively with clients who prefer to join in on the creative process of their Interior Design installation.
